Christopher (Chris) W. Martin has been a partner at Ayres & Parkey since 1986. He has been the managing partner of the firm since 1991. Mr.
Martin concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial transactions, banking, commercial real estate, real estate development as well as
business entity matters and estate work. Mr. Martin is a licensed title insurance agent in Tennessee and an agent for Fidelity National
Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Martin represents numerous lenders in Tennessee, including regional banks, community banks, and credit unions. He is acted as lead
attorney in real estate projects throughout the southeast, including office buildings, strip centers, industrial plants, residential
subdivision development, and land use planning. Mr. Martin has experience in historic properties, tax increment (TIF) financing, environmental
sites and government leasing and litigation.
Mr. Martin graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977, and obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from the
University of Tennessee, College of Law in 1981. He has lectured extensively on matters of real property law, commercial transactions, and
secured lending. In his leisure time, Mr. Martin is an avid mountain biker, runner, and outdoorsman. Mr. Martin is married with two adult
children, and has been president of several charitable nonprofit boards of directors.
